The Anti-piracy Cell of the Kerala Police conducted surprised raids and seized 3,000 pirated CDs from Kochi and Kasargod.
According to police officials, the raids were conducted on the basis of a tip-off that large number of CDs of new Malayalam, English, Tamil and Hindi movies are being sold in Kochi and Kasargod areas. In Kochi, the raid was conducted at a CD shop named New Gooodwill Collection, at Vyapari Bhavan, Palarivattom.
The police seized pirated copies of several new films, including ‘Da Thadiya’, ‘Ayalum Njanum Thammil’, ‘Spirit’, Kammath & Kammath’, ‘Celluloid’, ‘My Boss’, ‘Amen’, and ‘Annayum Rasoolum’. The police have arrested the owner of the shop, Shiyad, a native of Palarivattom. The police officials also said that they seized around 1,000 pirated CDs in a raid at Kasargod.
